Plan My Wedding With Me! a series

Not many of you may know this but this past Christmas I got engaged to the love of my life, Corban! Isn't he delish?

I thought it might be fun to take you along with me as I plan our wedding for this October! It's definitely a quicker timeline, but when you're in love that's all that matters right?

So Corban and I got engaged December 14th, 2021 and our wedding is on October 22nd, 2022. That is 312 days until I Do! There was so much to do, I was freaking out from day one. Generally I recommend to our brides that they take 12-18 months to plan out their special day so they don't have to rush things like I have. Luckily, I'm a professional. If I can do it for myself, hopefully I can give you a few tips to help you too!

In the spirit of full transparency, I have to let you in on two little secrets. One - Corban and I knew we'd be getting engaged and so I booked our venue (my family's venue) about... six months before he proposed. I knew my date would go fast (I mean come on, 10/22/22? What was I thinking?) and I didn't want to pick a date I wasn't in love with. If you're planning your wedding on a short timeline but still want a great date, my advice is to check out the local venues that are new! They will bend over backward to make your day great and they usually have some amazing dates open!

The second secret is that I booked our photographer about a month before we got engaged as well. This was the only vendor that I thought I might not get a great photographer if I didn't work fast. I'll make a whole post later about the process I went through for that!

Other than those two things, I was going into this as a total newbie! Up until December, I had never planned my own wedding farther than an excessive amount of pins on Pinterest. Knowing what I do about the industry, I knew I had to work fast. It's February 28th now and the only vendors I have left to pin down are my makeup artist and the bartending service. Everyone else I've locked down and I can't tell you the relief it is to have all of your vendors selected!

Over the next few months, I'm going to be sharing my experiences with selecting vendors, doing invitations, creating DIY elements, and general knowledge in the hope of helping my future brides! I can't wait to share it all with you. Happy planning!
